What 2026 guides publish for Google Ads cost in India
There is no single price for Google Ads in India. People search for “Google Ads cost India” and “Google Ads price in India” hoping for one number, but you do not buy a package from Google, because you do not buy a package from Google. You bid for clicks in an auction and pay per click, so Google Ads pricing in India depends on what you sell, where and who else is bidding. The published guides disagree for exactly that reason.
| Source and date | What it says | Range |

| Mega Digital (updated 5 Jun 2026) | Average search cost per click, and cost per sale or lead by industry | ₹20 – ₹150 a click; ₹500 – ₹40,000+ per conversion |

| digitalskillmastery (13 Feb 2026, snippet) | What most Indian businesses spend each month | ₹10,000 – ₹1,00,000 a month |
Sources marked “snippet” were read from the Google results page on 8 October 2026, not opened in full. Each page defines its own terms, which is why the ranges disagree. These are market figures, not our price list.
Read the table in two layers. The per-click figures tell you what a visitor costs, which ranges from a few rupees for shopping-style searches to several hundred for insurance, loans and some medical searches. The monthly figures tell you what businesses commit, which for a local service business usually starts in the tens of thousands of rupees.

Do not treat any one table as fact. OwlClaw publishes a different India table in which healthcare averages ₹22 a click (range ₹12 to ₹45) and real estate ₹65, against upGrowth’s ₹30 to ₹250 and ₹40 to ₹400. OwlClaw says its figures come from its own client data, gives no method, and carries an update date of 2025, so we use it only to show how far sources can differ. Mega Digital’s industry examples are narrower still: legal ₹25 to ₹75 a click and electronics ₹30 to ₹80.
Use these tables to size a budget, then let your own account tell you the real price after two weeks of data.
Why two businesses pay very different amounts for the same clicks
Google runs an auction every time someone searches. Your price depends on who else wants that search and on how useful Google judges your ad to be. Five things move it most.
- The keyword and its intentA search such as “buy running shoes” is cheaper than “term insurance quote”, because the second one can be worth far more to the advertiser.
- How many rivals bidA narrow local search has few bidders. A national search in finance or insurance has many, and the price climbs with them.
- Your ad and your pageGoogle rewards ads that match the search and pages that match the ad. A better match can lower what you pay for the same position.
- Location and timingA small city costs less than a big one, and admission season, festivals and sale days raise prices. Mega Digital reports cost per conversion rising 30% to 50% in peak periods such as Diwali.
- How you set the goalCounting only clicks buys cheap visitors. Counting calls and form fills pushes the account towards people who act.
The same shop can see its price change month to month. That is normal. What you control is the match between search, ad and page, and the goal you set for the account.
Google Ads cost calculator for India
Pick a cost per click from the tables above, set the clicks you want each day and the share of visitors who enquire. The tool shows the monthly bill, with GST, and what each enquiry costs.
Google Ads cost calculator (your numbers, not a forecast)
The method follows the guides above: daily budget is cost per click times clicks, a month is 30.4 days, and cost per enquiry is cost per click divided by the share of visitors who enquire. GST is added to the ad spend at 18%. We assume GST on the agency fee is also 18%. Real accounts vary every day, so treat this as a planning sketch.
The method is the one the guides publish. Mega Digital gives the budget as the average cost per click times the clicks you want each day, with ₹50 a click and 100 clicks a day coming to ₹5,000 a day. upGrowth, Google Ads Pricing India 2026 sets a month at 30.4 days, so ₹1,000 a day caps the media bill at ₹30,400, and uses the formula cost per lead equals cost per click divided by the conversion rate. At ₹300 a click and a 10% rate that is a ₹3,000 lead.
The conversion rate is the number people get wrong. A rate of 2% to 3% for a general page and above 5% for a sharp, focused page are common figures, but your own account is the only reliable source. If you do not have one yet, run the calculator at 2%, 5% and 8% and see which of the three you could live with.
What monthly budget to start with
Budget advice varies by what you sell, because it has to buy enough clicks to teach the account something. upGrowth gives these starting points for monthly media spend.
| Business type | Starting media budget a month | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Most small businesses | ₹25,000 | A common first figure |
| Local services with low click costs | ₹15,000 – ₹30,000 | Typical cost per lead given as ₹150 to ₹400 |
| D2C e-commerce | ₹50,000 – ₹1,50,000 | Needs room to test products and audiences |
| SaaS or B2B | ₹1,00,000 – ₹3,00,000 | ₹50,000 to ₹80,000 is said to give 5 to 10 leads a month |
| Healthcare or fintech | ₹1,50,000 – ₹5,00,000 | High click costs and strict ad rules |
Source: upGrowth, Google Ads Pricing India 2026. Add 18% GST to every figure. These are an agency’s own starting points, not Google minimums.
Google itself sets no minimum. Mega Digital says small businesses can start at ₹500 to ₹1,000 a day, which is ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 a month. upGrowth’s sizing rule is a good check: the monthly budget should buy 30 to 50 conversions over the first 90 days at your target cost per conversion. If your target is ₹2,000 per conversion, that points to ₹60,000 to ₹1,00,000 a month.
GST, TDS and the extras that sit outside the ad spend
The media figure is not the whole bill. Three more things belong in the plan before you commit.
- 18% GST on ad spendupGrowth says Google charges 18% GST on ad purchases, so a ₹50,000 media month costs ₹59,000 before any agency fee. A GST-registered business may be able to claim it back as input credit, which your accountant can confirm.
- TDS on payments to GoogleupGrowth states the current rate is 2% on advertising payments to Google India Private Limited, excluding GST. Rates and rules change, so check with your accountant.
- A reserve for tools and creativeupGrowth suggests setting aside 5% to 15% of total spend for landing page tools, creative, conversion tracking and tag management. A page that does not convert wastes every click you pay for.
- Your own time to follow upAn enquiry that nobody answers for a day is a click you paid for and lost. This costs nothing on the invoice and is the most common leak.
What agencies charge to manage Google Ads in India
If an agency runs the account, its fee is separate from the media spend that goes to Google. upGrowth lists three models.
| Model | Published range | When it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed monthly retainer | ₹20,000 – ₹3,00,000+ a month | Basic single-campaign work up to growth accounts; suited to media spend under ₹5,00,000 a month |
| Percentage of ad spend | 10% – 20% of monthly media | Described as sensible above ₹5,00,000 a month of media |
| Hybrid | ₹30,000 – ₹75,000 plus 5% – 8% of spend | Often adopted once spend passes ₹3,00,000 a month |
Source: upGrowth, Google Ads Pricing India 2026, which cites Noir and Blanco (July 2026). Mid-market growth retainers are listed at ₹60,000 to ₹1,50,000 a month. GST is extra.
Check what the fee covers. Account set-up, ad writing, weekly search term checks, conversion tracking and a monthly report should be listed in writing. Our PPC agency page and our advertising agency in Chennai page show what we include, and we quote only after we have seen your account or your plan. Digital BizStar is a digital marketing agency in Chennai, so we run the ads, the page and the reporting together.
Cost per view and cost per 1,000 impressions
Search ads are charged per click. Display and video ads can be charged per thousand impressions or per view, which is why people ask what 1,000 impressions cost.
| Format | Published figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Display, cost per 1,000 impressions | about ₹50; the same page also cites a lower ₹5 to ₹10 figure | Mega Digital |
| Display, cost per click | about ₹5 | Mega Digital |
| YouTube, cost per 1,000 impressions | ₹40 – ₹250; music and gaming at the bottom, finance at the top | upGrowth, YouTube CPM in India (estimates, Sep 2026) |
| YouTube, cost per view | No reliable rupee range found | None of the sources we opened published one |
A cost per view depends on the format, the audience and the bid, so we do not quote one we could not source. Ask your agency to show the figure from your own account after a test week.
The gap between ₹5 and ₹50 on the same page shows why impression prices should be treated as a starting guess. For brand awareness they are useful. For enquiries, most small businesses are better off on search first, because the click follows a need the person has already stated. See our performance marketing page for how we decide which format earns its place.
A worked example: a local service business
Here is how the pieces combine for a business that sells to people in one city. The figures are an illustration of the method, using the published ranges above, not a forecast or a quote.
| Line | Assumption | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Ad spend | ₹30,000 a month, in the local-services starting range | ₹30,000 |
| Cost per click | ₹30, inside the healthcare-to-travel band of the tables above | 1,000 clicks |
| Enquiry rate | 5% of visitors call or fill the form | 50 enquiries |
| Cost per enquiry | Cost per click divided by the enquiry rate | ₹600 |
| GST on ad spend | 18% of ₹30,000 | ₹5,400 |
| Agency fee | Agreed separately, not included here | Extra |
If the enquiry rate were 2% instead of 5%, the same spend would give 20 enquiries at ₹1,500 each. The page and the follow-up matter as much as the bid.
This is why we ask to see your page and your follow-up before we talk about budget. Doubling the money without fixing a weak page doubles the waste.
How to avoid overpaying for Google Ads
Most wasted spend comes from a few repeatable causes. Check these before you raise the budget.
- The account is in your nameYou should be the owner of the Google Ads account and the payment method, with the agency added as a user. If it is in theirs, you cannot see the real bill or take your history with you.
- You see the search termsThe report should list the actual searches that triggered your ads and the ones you blocked. Unrelated searches are the most common leak.
- Calls and forms are countedIf the account only tracks clicks, it will chase cheap visitors. Ask to see conversions set up and tested.
- The location and schedule fitShowing a local ad across the country, or at 3 a.m. when nobody answers the phone, wastes money.
- You get a plain monthly reportSpend, clicks, enquiries and cost per enquiry in one page, with what changed and why.
Ask any agency the same five questions. A clear, specific answer is a better sign than a low price.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Google Ads cost in India per month?
There is no fixed price. Published starting points run from ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 a month for a local service business, ₹25,000 for most small businesses, ₹50,000 to ₹1,50,000 for D2C e-commerce, and ₹1,50,000 to ₹5,00,000 for healthcare or fintech (upGrowth, 2026). Add 18% GST, and the agency fee if you use one.
What is the average cost per click on Google Ads in India?
Mega Digital puts search at ₹20 to ₹150 a click, and upGrowth shows industry ranges from ₹10 to ₹3,000, with insurance and loans at the top. The average for your account depends on your keywords, so measure it after two weeks of real data.
How is the Google Ads price calculated?
You set a daily budget and a bid, and Google runs an auction for each search. You pay per click, not per day. Daily budget is roughly cost per click times the clicks you want, and a month is counted as 30.4 days. Our calculator above does the sum.
Is there a minimum spend?
Google sets none. Small businesses commonly start at ₹500 to ₹1,000 a day, according to Mega Digital, though a very low budget buys too few clicks to show what works.
Do I pay GST on Google Ads in India?
Yes. upGrowth says Google charges 18% GST on ad purchases, so a ₹50,000 media month costs ₹59,000. A GST-registered business may be able to claim it as input credit. Please confirm with your accountant, as we are not tax advisers.
What does an agency charge on top of the ad spend?
upGrowth lists monthly retainers from ₹20,000 to ₹3,00,000 or more, a share of 10% to 20% of ad spend, or a hybrid of ₹30,000 to ₹75,000 plus 5% to 8%. These are market ranges from another company, not our price list. Our quote is written after we see your account and shows the fee and ad spend separately.
How much do 1,000 impressions cost on Google Ads?
It depends on the format. Mega Digital gives about ₹50 per 1,000 display impressions and also cites a lower figure, and upGrowth estimates YouTube at ₹40 to ₹250 per 1,000. Search ads are charged per click, not per impression.
Can you promise how many enquiries I will get?
No. Enquiries depend on your offer, your page, your prices and how fast you reply. We can promise how the account is run: tracked conversions, weekly search term checks and a monthly report in plain numbers. If the numbers do not justify the spend, we will tell you.
