What SEO packages cost in India: what 2026 sources publish
SEO is sold as a monthly retainer, and a search for SEO packages India sellers offer shows that the published prices run from about ₹5,000 to well over ₹1,00,000 a month. The spread is wide because two companies can use the same word “package” for very different amounts of work.
| Source and date | What it describes | Range |
|---|---|---|
| DigitalOrb (read 8 Oct 2026) | A price guide with ten package types, from starter to enterprise. It says these are market ranges, not official rates | ₹5,000 – ₹1,00,000+ |
| Noir & Blanco (updated 8 Oct 2026) | Its own plans: Basic, Advanced, E-commerce. Its blog and FAQ give other, lower ranges for basic work | ₹35,000, ₹45,000, ₹65,000 |
| upGrowth (15 Sep 2026, Hyderabad) | Four tiers for one city: Starter, Growth, Advanced, Enterprise | ₹8,000 – ₹2,50,000+ |
| Webnox (snippet seen 8 Oct 2026) | Entry package quoted in search results | from ₹17,500 |
| Rankon (snippet seen 8 Oct 2026) | Basic, Advanced and eCommerce | ₹25,000, ₹40,000, ₹55,000 |
| Yug Technology (snippet seen 8 Oct 2026) | Basic and advanced packages | from ₹5,000; advanced ₹50,000+ |
| World India (snippet seen 8 Oct 2026) | Three monthly packages | ₹15,000, ₹20,000, ₹25,000 |
Rows marked “snippet” were read from the Google results page, not opened in full. Every page defines its own package, so the numbers describe different amounts of work. These are market figures, not our price list.
Two patterns are worth noticing. First, one company can contradict itself: Noir & Blanco lists a Basic plan at ₹35,000 on its package page while the same page gives ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 for basic agency packages and ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 for a basic tier. Second, the most common starting point for a small business on agency price lists sits between ₹15,000 and ₹30,000 a month, with freelancers quoted lower, at ₹5,000 to ₹15,000.
SEO package price in India by package type
Search engine optimization packages come in many shapes. DigitalOrb sets out ten package types with a range for each. It says plainly that these are market ranges and not rates any one company charges, which makes it a useful map of the market.
| Package type | Monthly range | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Starter SEO | ₹5,000 – ₹10,000 | A new site that needs the basics fixed |
| Local SEO | ₹7,000 – ₹15,000 | Shops and clinics that serve one area |
| Small business SEO | ₹10,000 – ₹20,000 | Service firms with a small site |
| On-page SEO | ₹8,000 – ₹18,000 | Fixing titles, content and structure on existing pages |
| Technical SEO | ₹10,000 – ₹25,000+ | Sites with speed, crawling or indexing problems |
| Content SEO | ₹12,000 – ₹30,000+ | Businesses that need regular articles and pages |
| E-commerce SEO | ₹15,000 – ₹40,000+ | Online stores with many products |
| National SEO | ₹20,000 – ₹50,000+ | Competing across the country |
| Enterprise SEO | ₹40,000 – ₹1,00,000+ | Large sites and many locations |
| SEO plus growth work | ₹25,000 – ₹75,000+ | SEO combined with ads, content and reporting |
Source: DigitalOrb price guide, read 8 October 2026. DigitalOrb describes these as market ranges, not official rates, and we have not been able to verify them against any one company’s rate card.
Notice how much the “type” matters more than the “city”. A local package for a single shop and an e-commerce package for a store with thousands of pages are different jobs, and they should not be compared on price alone.
SEO cost by business type and size
SEO cost in India also depends on who is buying. Two other 2026 guides break prices down by the kind of business, which is the way most buyers think about it.
| Business type | Published range | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Local business, clinic or hotel | ₹25,000 – ₹60,000 | Noir & Blanco (includes Google Business Profile work) |
| Local clinic, one neighbourhood | ₹12,000 – ₹18,000 | upGrowth (Hyderabad example) |
| Healthcare and clinics | ₹12,000 – ₹45,000 | upGrowth (Hyderabad) |
| Professional services | ₹12,000 – ₹30,000 | upGrowth (Hyderabad) |
| D2C and e-commerce | ₹35,000 – ₹90,000; ₹50,000 – ₹1,50,000+ | upGrowth (Hyderabad); Noir & Blanco |
| EdTech | ₹25,000 – ₹70,000 | upGrowth (Hyderabad) |
| SaaS and B2B | ₹60,000 – ₹1,50,000; ₹75,000 – ₹2,00,000+ | upGrowth (Hyderabad); Noir & Blanco |
The upGrowth page is about Hyderabad, not Chennai, and we found no published Chennai price list for 2026. Use these as a guide to how prices rise with competition, not as local quotes.
Prices climb with competition and with how much a lead is worth. A clinic and a SaaS company pay differently because the work and the stakes differ.
What an SEO package should include
A price means little until you know what it covers. These are the lines to look for, and what a useful answer sounds like.
| Line in the package | A useful answer | A warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Keywords | A named list agreed with you, mapped to pages, with the reason for each | “Up to 50 keywords” with no list |
| On-page work | Which pages will be changed each month, and what changes | A number of pages with no detail |
| Technical fixes | An audit first, then a ranked fix list with who does each fix | Only “technical SEO” in one line |
| Content | How many pages or articles, who writes them, who checks facts | Content that is generic or reused |
| Links | How links are earned, and that they are from real sites | A fixed number of backlinks a month |
| Reporting | A monthly report showing clicks, impressions, leads and what was done | A ranking screenshot only |
| Access | Your Search Console and Analytics are in your name | The agency owns the accounts |
upGrowth’s Starter tier shows what a small package can contain: 10 to 20 keywords, on-page fixes for 5 to 8 pages, 2 to 4 backlinks a month and a monthly PDF report. Larger tiers add content production, technical audits and structured link building.
Noir & Blanco lists six areas that every package should cover: technical SEO, keyword research and intent mapping, on-page optimisation, content and authority building, AI search visibility, and link building with digital PR. The difference between packages is how deep each area goes, and how many hours go into it.
Why one SEO package costs ₹8,000 and another ₹80,000
A bigger price does not always mean better work, and a small one is not always a trap. Five things explain most of the gap.
- Who does the workA junior with a checklist costs less than a senior strategist. Ask who will touch your account each month.
- How much is written for youArticles, pages and expert reviews take hours. A package with no content line is cheaper because it is smaller.
- How competitive your search isRanking for a local service is different from ranking for insurance or software, and the effort rises with it.
- How big the site isThirty pages and thirty thousand products are not the same job.
- What the price leaves outSome packages exclude links, content or tools, and add them as extras once you have signed.
As a rough sanity check, upGrowth publishes consulting at ₹2,500 to ₹8,000 an hour. At those rates, a ₹20,000 retainer buys between 2.5 and 8 hours of a senior person’s time. Retainers are usually served by a team that includes cheaper staff, so this is not how the fee is calculated, but it shows why a very low price can only cover a small amount of attention.
One-off and add-on SEO prices in India
Not everything is a retainer. Some work is bought once, or added to a monthly plan.
| Item | Published range | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Hourly consulting | ₹2,500 – ₹8,000 an hour | Senior consultant time |
| One-time technical audit | ₹15,000 – ₹60,000 | Add-on to a retainer or bought alone |
| Projects: audits, migrations, penalty recovery | ₹15,000 – ₹3,00,000 | Depends on the size of the site |
| Link placements | ₹3,000 – ₹8,000 per link | Ask what the site is and why it would link |
| Digital PR placements | ₹20,000 – ₹50,000 per placement | Coverage on news or industry sites |
| Strategy and reporting layer | ₹15,000 – ₹40,000 a month | Add-on to a retainer |

How long before an SEO package shows results
Two guides give almost the same timeline, which is unusual in a market where promises vary.
| Stage | When | Source |
|---|---|---|
| First movement in target keywords | About 3 to 4 months | upGrowth; Noir & Blanco says within 3 months |
| Noticeable growth in traffic | About month 6 | upGrowth; Noir & Blanco |
| Top positions for high-volume terms in a competitive market | 9 to 12 months | upGrowth; Noir & Blanco |
Both sources are agencies selling SEO, and a new site, a penalty or a very competitive search can take longer.
This is why a three-month contract is a fair first period and a one-month promise of page one is a warning sign. Nobody outside Google controls rankings, and no honest package promises a position. See our SEO services page for what we commit to in writing, and our guide to a site not showing on Google if you are starting from zero.
Red flags in an SEO package
Most bad deals share a few signals. These are the ones that matter.
- A guaranteed rankingNobody outside Google controls rankings, so nobody can promise a position. A company that does is inexperienced, or hopes you will not check.
- A fixed number of backlinks a monthLinks are earned. A quota tends to produce low-quality links that can hurt rather than help.
- No access to your own accountsYour Search Console and Analytics should be in your name. If they are not, you lose your history when you leave.
- A long lock-in with no reviewA first period of three months with a clear review point is fair. Twelve months of fees with no exit is not.
- Reports that show only rankingsAsk for clicks, impressions, enquiries and what was done that month.
- A price with no scopeCheap can be fine. Cheap with nothing written down is the problem.
How to compare two SEO quotes side by side
Put both quotes in front of you and answer these questions for each one. The package with clearer answers is usually the safer one.
- What exactly will be done each month?Ask for a list of tasks and the pages they apply to, not a headline price.
- Who will do it, and how many hours?Names and roles are better than a team photo.
- How will you report, and on what?Clicks, impressions and enquiries from your own accounts, in a plain monthly page.
- Whose name are the accounts in?Yours, with the agency added as a user.
- What happens at month three?A review with a stated option to continue, change or stop.
- Is GST included? Many published prices exclude it. Ask for the final amount in writing.

Frequently asked questions
How much do SEO packages cost in India?
Published 2026 guides put monthly packages from about ₹5,000 for a starter plan to ₹1,00,000 or more for enterprise work. Basic agency packages sit between ₹15,000 and ₹30,000 on several price lists, and e-commerce and national work between ₹50,000 and ₹1,50,000. These are market ranges from other companies, not our price list.
What is the average SEO cost in Chennai?
We could not find a published Chennai price list for 2026, so we will not invent an average. The closest published city guide we found was for Hyderabad, where Starter runs ₹8,000 to ₹20,000 and Growth ₹20,000 to ₹60,000 a month. Our own quote is written after we see your site and your competitors.
Is a ₹5,000 SEO package any good?
It can fix the basics on a small site, but it buys very little time. At the consulting rates published by upGrowth, ₹5,000 buys under two hours of senior attention. Ask exactly what is included, who does it and what the report will show.
Are SEO packages monthly or one-time?
Most are monthly retainers because ranking is ongoing work. One-time work exists too, such as a technical audit at ₹15,000 to ₹60,000 or a migration, according to upGrowth. Ask which one you are being quoted.
How long before I see results from an SEO package?
Two agency guides give almost the same answer: first movement at about three to four months, noticeable traffic at about six, and top positions in a competitive market at nine to twelve. Anyone who promises page one in a month is not being straight.
Do SEO packages include Google Business Profile and local SEO?
Some do and some charge for it separately. Noir & Blanco’s local range of ₹25,000 to ₹60,000 includes Google Business Profile work. Ask for it in writing, and see our Google Business Profile service if you want it on its own.
Is GST charged on SEO packages?
Many published prices exclude GST, and digital services are generally taxed at 18% in India. Ask for the final amount with tax and confirm the rules with your accountant, as we are not tax advisers.
Can you promise me page one on Google?
No. Nobody outside Google controls rankings. What we commit to is the work: a written plan, named pages and keywords, monthly reports from your own Search Console, and a three-month review. See our SEO services page.
